Eureka Support Society

A Resource For Adults With Persistent Mental Health Issues.

Eureka Support Society provides educational, vocational, social and recreational support to adults living with persistent mental health issues in the Comox Valley

Members are encouraged to support the program by assisting with preparing and serving meals each day. Numerous crafts and games are available at any time. The cost of most activities is covered by the Society. Some activities require a refundable deposit. At any given time, approximately 14 members are employed between two and eight hours a week to assist with the operation of the programs.

Friends of Eureka

Friends of Eureka is a non-voting
membership category available for
people who wish to support the Society but are not eligible to be members. Please contact staff for further information.

Meals

Eureka Support Society provides members an
inexpensive lunch each day it is open. Meals cost $2 for members, however guests are required to pay $4 per meal.

Yoga

Relaxing Yoga led by a certified yoga instructor. Free for all Eureka Clubhouse members.

Art Classes

We are lucky to have artist volunteers that lead our art classes and teach any interested members in various types of artistic techniques from sketching to acrylic painting.

Sewing & Quilting

Join other members as they sew various projects, from basic coasters to advanced quilting.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

Baking

Learn baking techniques with our kitchen manager, Dawne, as well as occasional guest baker classes.

Walking Group

Get some fresh air and check out downtown Courtenay during our morning walk around.

Black Top Players

The Black Top Players offer three different plays. Our stories are presented with brightly colored, child-sized puppets.

Movements of Dance

Learn basics of various styles of dance with guidance of a professional instructor.

Additional Activities

Keep an eye on the schedule, as most months have special events pop up, like Valentine’s Day cupcake decorating, St. Patrick’s Day cookie decorating, Beginner Sewing Class, Mask Making class and more.
